hen
it comes to fly fishing lodges, it is nice
to stay in one that Jim Bridger would have found
comfortably familiar.
Set in a grove of trees, the main lodge, circa
1880, served as a stagecoach stop where
travelers paid a toll to cross the bridge over
the Madison River en route to the Continental
Divide and the gateway to Yellowstone National
Park |
|
This historic lodge was built of hand-hewn logs,
as are the adjoining cabins. The main building
has a wrap around front porch overlooking the
world famous Madison River, which is only a fly
cast away.

The lodge
is now a comfortably appointed gathering place
for meals and activities.

The
Old Kirby Place has earned the reputation of creating
delicious meals for sophisticated palates. Our
breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served on
a long table of pumpkin pine in the lodge's great
room, or, weather-permitting, on the porch, complete
with panoramic mountain and river views.
